giulio.zuanetti@wichtig.com

Giulio Zuanetti graduated in Medicine at the University of Milan in 1983 and specialized in Cardiology at the same University. He moved to US for a Post-doc Fellowship in Cardiovascular Research at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where his research focused on understanding mechanisms underlying life threatening arrhythmias. After moving back to Italy he was Senior Scientist at the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research and was involved in some of the largest trials in cardiovascular research within the GISSI group (Italian Group for the Study of the Survival of Myocardial Infarction). His research was focused on the impact of diabetes on afrenergic imbalance and on the prognosis in patients with acute and chronic myocardial infarction. He has authored several articles on some of the leading titles in Cardiology, including Circulation Research, Circulation, JACC and others. He then became progressively involved in scientific publishing within the Adis-Wolters Kluwer group, where he took positions of increasing managerial responsibility, gradually leaving active research. He is currently CEO and General Manager of Wichtig International, and is acting ad interim as Editor in Chief for Heart International while the search for an established Editor in Chief is in progress.
